Besides being the founder of Guiding Sound Ministry, Jim Dorman has created the following:
- The Nature Delivery Project, a non-profit that brings the benefits of nature therapy to those with mobility challenges

- Tux Cat Music – Music management & classes
- The Purple Herons – Funk/jazz fusion band
- Bandmakers – Teaches amateur musicians what it’s like to be in a band by actually being in a band
All of these ventures were started after Jim was certified legally blind: an experience that empowered him to re-imagine his lifestyle, learning to view this ‘limitation’ as a springboard for discovery and a catalyst for success.
